Given the oversold trading conditions, I was in the habit of sifting through the rubble looking for bargain buys. AGNC Investment Corp (AGNC), a company which invests in mortgage-backed securities (MBS), was a particularly interesting investment. AGNC looked like a survivor amid the chaos that had engulfed the MBS market. <a href=\"https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/2020\/04\/09\/agnc-investment-surprising-updates\/\">I made the case for AGNC<\/a> by pointing to three &#8220;surprises&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>AGNC would likely gain income from a lengthening in the period debtors would hold their mortgages.<\/li><li>The company&#8217;s repurchase program stayed in place. <\/li><li>The MBS funding markets remained &#8220;fully functional&#8221; largely thanks to interventions from the Federal Reserve.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<br><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1196033822186410\" data-ad-slot=\"3478942445\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br>\n\n\n\n<p>The combination was enough to get me bargain shopping. The lift from that time has been a slow grind, but patience is paying off. Three weeks ago, AGNC broke out above its 200-day moving average (DMA) for the first time since my April. The stock broke out again on November 5th and confirmed that bullish breakout on November 10th. Moreover, an amazing <a href=\"https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/2020\/11\/07\/housing-market-review-october-2020\/\">boom continues unfolding in the housing market<\/a>. The company continues to <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.agnc.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/agnc-investment-corp-declares-monthly-common-stock-dividend-53\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pay dividend<\/a>s, and, as promised, AGNC continues to repurchase (cheap) shares. In its last reporting quarter, AGNC repurchased a whopping 11.0M shares at an average $13.95 price.
