The Bank of Canada cancelled the meeting until further notice, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bankofcanada.ca\/2014\/10\/opening-statement-22-10-2014\/\" target=\"_blank\">the introductory statement and October&#8217;s Monetary Policy Report were posted<\/a>. The introductory statement is of great interest on its own. A rescheduling of the press conference is definitely in order because I suspect journalists and the like will have a LOT of questions for Governor Stephen S. Poloz.<\/p>\n<p>Commentary related to the Canadian dollar (FXC) was limited but of interest nonetheless. Poloz noted that Canadian exports are finally doing well, partially thanks to a weaker Canadian dollar.
