Instead of selling off, the stock has since broken out above both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages (DMAs), rallying 6.4%. Those puts have lost almost all their remaining value. <\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15630\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15630\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/121205_CTSH.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/121205_CTSH.png\" alt=\"Cognizant Technology breaks out\" title=\"Cognizant Technology breaks out\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/121205_CTSH.png 500w, https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/121205_CTSH-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15630\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cognizant Technology breaks out<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nSource: FreeStockCharts.com<br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>I have to assume now that some trader(s) anticipated Wednesday&#8217;s 8K release on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/ap\/2012-12-05\/cognizant-rises-on-2013-compensation-targets\" target=\"_blank\">executive compensation incentives tied to revenue targets that meet analyst expectations<\/a>, SELLING puts for premium instead of looking for a huge downside payday. <\/p>\n<p>{snip}<\/p>\n<p>The options action continues to throw up mixed signals as put volume surged yet again despite the rally in CTSH. {snip}<\/p>\n<p>The key lesson here &#8211; one that is good to learn and learn again &#8211; is that options volume is not always what it seems. {snip}<\/p>\n<p>{snip} A close above the October high will be very bullish and suggest that the next rally in the shares is well underway.
