The euro slid almost the entire week against the U.S. dollar, ending the week at fresh four month lows. <\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11560\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11560\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/120511_EURUSD.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/120511_EURUSD.png\" alt=\"The euro looks set to lose all its gains against the U.S. dollar for 2012\" title=\"The euro looks set to lose all its gains against the U.S. dollar for 2012\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/120511_EURUSD.png 500w, https:\/\/drduru.com\/onetwentytwo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/120511_EURUSD-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11560\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The euro looks set to lose all its gains against the U.S. dollar for 2012<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Two months ago, I wrote &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/seekingalpha.com\/article\/441601-nassim-taleb-likes-euros-and-so-should-you\" target=\"_blank\">Nassim Taleb Likes Euros And So Should You<\/a>.&#8221; I believe Taleb&#8217;s fundamental premise is that the EU has (or is) addressing its debt problems in a way that will provide future support and strength for the currency. French President-elect Francois Hollande will likely throw a wrench in Taleb&#8217;s assessments as he is likely to increase the debt in order to fund pro-growth initiatives. {snip}<\/p>\n<p>{snip}<\/p>\n<p>To me, the big wildcard in foreign exchange is the Swiss National Bank (SNB) and capital flows in and out of Switzerland.
