This outperformance appears to grow the greater the sell-off in the previous trading day.<\/li>\n<li>{snip}<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>{snip}<\/p>\n<p>{snip}&#8230; you are not likely to build a consistently winning trading strategy year-in and year-out simply trying to play the overall averages. Again, note well that the relationships across the days of the week can change dramatically from year-to-year. {snip}<\/p>\n<p>I will say that the small amount of data for 2012 seems to suggest that the &#8220;Tuesday trade&#8221; is only reliable if Monday closes down&#8230;but not too low. To date, there have been 12 trading days closing with a price change of -0.5% or lower and only 5 trading days closing with a price change of -1.0% or lower.
