Dancing With the Stars Review: Kim Fields Quick Steps and LEAPS to Her Highest Score Yet
Season #22 of Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) is now on Episode #4, and Kim is holding her own. This week, Kim and her dance partner Sasha Farber did the Quickstep for Disney Night on DWTS. Kim was on point in what was clearly her best performance yet. The judges rewarded her with all 8s.
The highlight of the judging round was this moment when Kim leaped for joy into judge Bruno’s arms.
Kim is obviously having a LOT of fun on the show and her excitement is contagious!
Kim and Sasha danced the Quickstep to the tune of “I Wan’na Be Like You” from The Jungle Book by Fall Out Boy. Kim stepped up her game even more with great execution, head held high, a radiant smile, and plenty of energy to match the music. It was a sight to behold…especially with the elaborate set and jungle animals crawling around to cause surprise and delight.
Note that the competition has also generally stepped things up a notch. Most of the remaining dancers put on solid performances, so it looks like the competition will get really tough from here on out. But it looks like Kim is ready for it!
Judge Len Goodman
Once again, Kim put Len in a good mood. He described her dance as “zipidee dooda.” There was plenty of zip in the performance although the footwork had some dooda. The bottomline for Len? This was Kim’s best dance yet! Score: 8
Guest Judge Zendaya
Zendaya caught the fun infection. She pointed out for us that Kim yelled out “whooh!” in the middle of her dance. Zendaya enjoyed the dance: Kim brought her into it. Score: 8
Judge Bruno Tonioli
Bruno erupted into a string of accolades: sparkling, sizzling form; fastest gun in the jungle; jungle fever; excellent energy level. Bruno cooled down to give his serious feedback on Kim’s shoulders…finally, they are under control! At THAT, Kim leaped for joy. The pictures above say the rest. As a memento of the occasion, Kim left behind a smearing of lipstick on Bruno’s right arm…Score: 8
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba
Carrie Ann described the partnership between Kim and Sasha as fantastic. Carrie Ann noted the outstanding chemistry. Score: 8
The judges were short and sweet and VERY complimentary. Kim scored all 8s!
In the post-dance interview, Kim’s leap became the feature attraction in two replays. Co-host Erin Andrews called it the “Dolphin Dive.” Kim reassured us that all her “regions” were feeling fine after that leap for joy. Erin proceeded to explain to Sasha that THIS is what “piss and vinegar” looks like. Charlotte Rae, I personally still don’t get it. 🙂
